Gov. Lee issues updated Executive Order to require Tennesseans to stay home

Gov. Lee during his Thursday, April 2 press briefing on COVID-19 announced Executive Order 23, which amends Executive Order 22 to require Tennesseans to stay home unless engaging in essential activities or essential services.

“I have updated my previous executive order to clearly require that Tennesseans stay at home unless they are carrying out essential activities.”, Gov. Lee said during his news briefing.

The amended order took effect immediately and shall remain in effect until 11:59 p.m., Central Daylight Time, on April 14, 2020.

Executive Order 22 urged Tennesseans to “stay at home when at all possible,” and ordered all non-essential businesses to close for two weeks. All remaining provisions of Executive Order 22 remain in full force and effect.
