NASHVILLE – The Tennessee State Employees Association’s membership has elected Bryan Merritt as President.

“It is my distinct pleasure to serve this great Association,” Merritt said. “TSEA is the only voice for State Employees and I’m proud to be engaged as their President”

Merritt has represented TSEA’s 11th district on the association’s Board of Directors since 2009. Recently, he served the association as Chairman of the Tennessee Employees Action Movement, TSEA’s political action committee, since 2013.

“Bryan has been an advocate for state employees and an influential leader within TSEA for many years,” TSEA Executive Director John Summers said. “His knowledge of TSEA and experience as both PAC Chairman and longtime member of the board will be invaluable as we work together to strengthen this association.”

Bryan Merritt has worked for the state as a Field Supervisor 1 in the Department of Human Services for 10 years, and has been a state employee for 15 years.
