It is with great sadness the Tennessee State Employees Association informs our members and fellow state employees of the passing of our District 4 Board Member Sherry Koontz-Howell, who passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022.
“We are incredibly saddened by the news of Director Sherry Koontz-Howell’s passing,” TSEA Executive Director Randy Stamps said. “As a member of the TSEA Board, Sherry was a selfless advocate for state employees, an informed and powerful voice for higher education employees, and a dear friend to many. We will miss her greatly. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.”
Sherry was a cherished board member and a 26-year member of TSEA in the Warioto Chapter, where she served as both Chapter President and Vice President. She will be remembered as a vocal and loyal supporter of state and higher education employees by many, especially her former coworkers at Austin Peay State University, where she worked for 38 years. Sherry served on the TSEA Board of Directors since 2013.

Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
