Members of the Memphis City Council want the University of Memphis Board of Trustees to opt out of the state’s controversial facilities management outsourcing contract with JLL, a multi-national corporation located outside of Tennessee.
City Councilman Martavius Jones during the council’s Sept. 19 meeting sponsored a resolution urging the opt out.
The University of Memphis’ Board of Trustees is expected to take up the issue at their October 4 meeting.
