If you are applying for a TSEA scholarship and you need to know how to convert your GPA to a 4.0 scale, please follow these instructions:
- Determine Your Current GPA Scale: Consult your guidance counselor if unsure.
- Divide and Multiply: Divide your GPA by the GPA scale and then multiply the result by 4.
- Round Off: Round the final number to 2 decimal places. (Round down if the last digit is 1-4, and up if it’s 5-9.)
Examples:
- For a 5.30 GPA on a 6.0 scale: 5.30 ÷ 6.0 = 0.8833, then 0.8833 × 4 = 3.5332, rounded to 3.53.
- For a 79 GPA on a 100 scale: 79 ÷ 100 = 0.79, then 0.79 × 4 = 3.16, rounded to 3.16.
