With great sadness, we inform our members of the death of former TSEA President Phil Morson, who passed away in late December at his home in Bolivar, TN.
Dr. Phil Morson will be remembered by many as a fierce advocate for state employees. While serving as our association’s president, Morson guided TSEA through many challenges, most notably the TEAM ACT negotiations during the Haslam administration. President Morson was a loud and strong advocate for state employees, refusing to compromise on the key issues important to all of us. We are grateful for his service to TSEA and state employees, and the TSEA family will miss him.
Phil Morson served state employees as president of the TSEA board from 2009 – 2014. Before his position as TSEA President, Morson was the West TN Vice President for six years and Southwest Chapter treasurer for four years.
A memorial service for Dr. Phil Morson in the chapel of Shackelford Funeral Directors in Bolivar will be scheduled at a later date .
