TSEA argues against eliminating longevity pay

TSEA Executive Director John Summers Tuesday made a presentation during a public hearing before the full House State Government Committee to outline our concerns and opposition with HB647, the bill that would eliminate Longevity Pay for the majority of state employees.

As you may know, TSEA’s Board of Directors on Saturday voted to oppose this legislation.

Today’s public hearing was intended as an information-only hearing, therefore no vote was planned for today.

HB647 will be heard tomorrow at 12:00 NOON in the House State Government sub-committee, where a vote may or may not take place.
