TSEA March 31, 2023 Comments Off on 2023 Lobby Day info

Updated 3-31-2023:

Registration for TSEA’s 2023 Lobby Day is closed.

TSEA’s 2023 Lobby Day is scheduled for Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

TSEA’s Lobby Day on the Hill is an opportunity for members to meet with their district legislators and focus the conversation specifically on TSEA’s legislative agenda items for this year.

This year Lobby Day activities are scheduled in the House Chamber in the State Capitol, in the Cordell Hull Building, and in the Tennessee Tower for lunch.

The legislative session is extremely important for TSEA and state employees, as our association proposes, supports, or, when needed, opposes legislation that impacts both current and future state employees.

When you registered, if you did not choose a roommate, one was chosen for you. If you wish to know your roommate, please get in touch with [email protected].

The deadline has passed for reservation changes.

Please keep in mind that the hotel is non-smoking and there is a charge to the member if there’s any smoking in the sleeping or meeting room.

For chapters sending more than the 12 allowed chapter attendees, remember, the costs can be paid with chapter fundraising dollars, if approved by the chapter. Mileage is reimbursed at .55 cents per mile. And, as always, we urge members to use the “rideshare” policy for Association meetings by having at least two (2) members per vehicle.

Lobby Day will be an exciting time for TSEA on Capitol Hill. Thank you for arranging the time and registering to attend.

See you at Lobby on April 10 and 11!

For meals not provided by TSEA, approved meal reimbursement rates are:

Breakfast – $8
Lunch – $12

Mileage is reimbursed at .55 cents per mile. We continue to urge members to “rideshare” to Association meetings by having at least two (2) members per vehicle.

Not staying at the hotel?

Members not staying at the hotel can park at the Holiday Inn Nashville Vanderbilt and ride the van to and from the Capitol/Cordell Hull Building. Please contact Keisha Pittman at the TSEA office (615-256-4533) if you need parking and will NOT be an overnight hotel guest.

We ask that you keep in mind, based on legislative offices in Cordell Hull Building, that there is a substantial walking distance between the House Chamber and the Cordell Hull Building. In addition, lunch will require walking across the street to the TN Tower.
